FreeMe Plans are plans that allow you to pick your data and get other benefits and services for free, including free minutes. Simply pay for data and get free calls, free texts and free calling and messaging using Instant Messaging platforms.

What is FreeMe?

FreeMe is a mobile phone plan made up of six data options that all include free benefits. Select your preferred data option and you will receive free value added services. What you see is what you get – there are no hidden costs.

Benefits include free Telkom mobile and fixed-line calls, free WhatsApp calls, free text messaging and free WiFi at over 5500 Telkom hotspots.

How Will FreeMe Benefit My Business?

Make Free Calls

  • Free Telkom Mobile calls: employees can call each other, or customers for free – reducing costs for your business
  • Free Telkom Fixed line calls: call any Telkom landline for free

Send Free SMSs

  • Send up to 50 texts per day for free – perfect for those who prefer a more traditional approach to business communications

Free Instant Messaging Calls

  • FreeMe provides you with free IM calls – this is especially beneficial for international calling

Make Free Calls to Other Networks

  • Choose either the 20GB or Unlimited plan and receive free calls to other networks in SA. Fair usage policy applies

What are the Fair Usage Guidelines?

FreeMe has the following Fair Usage Policy on the free allocations: Free Telkom Mobile and Telkom fixed-line calls

  • 3 000 minutes per month

Free calls to other networks (plan dependent)

  • 1 500 minutes for FreeMe 20GB plan
  • 3 000 minutes for FreeMe Unlimited Free calls and messaging on WhatsApp, BBM & Viber

Plans will be limited to 2GB (access will be throttled to 64kbs after FUP limit is reached)

Free SMS / Text 50 SMS/Text per day FreeMe Unlimited * FreeMe Unlimited Data benefit is governed by a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) of 25GB per month. The speed shall be throttled to 128kbps if a subscriber reaches a data usage soft cap of 25GB before the end of the month
