As it looks to extract optimum value from a number of strategic investments and acquisitions made through 2011, Business Connexion has made a key appointment which substantially strengthens its executive talent. Industry stalwart, Doug Woolley has joined the company in the position of Group Executive: Technology Group, effective 15 March 2012.
“Ours is a client-driven business, and Doug’s tremendous experience in both vendor management and distribution on a company-wide basis will play an important role in our continuing focus on bringing the full strength and capabilities of the company to our clients,” says a substantially pleased Benjamin Mophatlane, Business Connexion CEO.
He adds that the value proposition and rallying cry for the company of ‘Connective Intelligence’ specifically depends on the human element as a defining factor. “With the experience and industry knowledge that Doug brings to Business Connexion, our value proposition takes a step forward,” Mophatlane enthuses.
Woolley holds a Bcom. Honours degree in Marketing from the University of South Africa. His name is somewhat synonymous with that of WorkGroup, a company which he has grown over the course of nearly a decade in the positions of managing director and, latterly, CEO. It is precisely this level of management which is expected to support the Business Connexion Technology Group and its contribution to the company’s performance.
In his new role, Woolley will apply his vendor management and distribution expertise to the company’s growth effort, confirms Mophatlane. “Our company, and indeed the market, is going through exciting times. We’ve made the investments in capacity, infrastructure and capability from a technology and solutions perspective. Complementing the essential human element with an individual of Woolley’s caliber underscores the commitment to maximizing the returns from these investments as we seek to stake a firm claim in the cloud services environments,” he adds.
